1. What are eBooks and how do we order them?
What is an eBook? Put very simplistically, “eBook” is short for “electronic book”, a book that is stored on and read from an electronic device such as a hard-drive or a compact disk.
You may order and receive eBooks from Igwababa by downloading directly to your computer from this website. Click on the eBooks button, select “Purchase book” and follow the instructions. Please note that ebooks purchased on Igwababa may only be read on the computer to which you download and activate it. The book is readable offline.
Please note that we only accept payment by credit card for internet-based transactions.
You will require Adobe reader to read books purchased from Igwababa.
2. What about copyright?
We do not want to earn a reputation for piracy, nor do we want to be sued by justly angry copyright holders. We research each book and will only publish once we have satisfied ourselves that all copyright issues have been resolved. Normally this will be achieved by obtaining proof that the book is in the public domain or by entering into agreements with the relevant copyright holders.
For information on South African copyright visit Bizland.
3. Will you honour my order once you have received payment?
Yes. We have gone to a great deal of time and trouble to set up this business, including researching and creating our first eBook and establishing links to our payment processor and Digital Rights Manager, both of whom are reputable organisations. We are in this business for the long haul and will be expecting a lot of repeat business. It does not make sense to go to all that trouble and then behave like fly-by-nights.
The costs far outweigh the rewards.
4. If I have a complaint or a query who do I contact?
Complaints
Enquiries
We will make every effort to have responded to, if not resolved, your contact within twenty four hours.
5. How long will I have to wait for delivery of my order?
Please allow one day for receipt of your activation key which will be sent to you via e-mail, although under normal circumstances we expect to send you an activation key within a far shorter period. We are dependent on the activities of many service providers, any one of whom may experience difficulties at any time. If you have not received your activation key within one day please contact Complaints and we will expedite your order.
Once the book has been activated, delivery will be deemed to have taken place and the customer to be satisfied unless we are notified to the contrary. The user must notify Igwababa of any problem with the product within twenty four hours of activation, failing which the sale will be deemed to be complete. 'Problems' will be limited to the user experiencing difficulties in using the product and not with the user's disappointment in the content of the product.
email: Complaints.
6. Do you charge Value Added Tax (VAT)?
Not at this time. Only 'persons who make taxable supplies in excess of R1 million in any 12-month consecutive period are liable for compulsory VAT registration' - SARS (South African Revenue Service). Much as we would like to make that kind of money, as a start-up business we need to keep our expectations realistic. However, should our sales exceed expectations we will then register and charge VAT.
Note that VAT is only payable on items purchased in South Africa - i.e. foreign-based customers will not be charged VAT at any time.
